Innovation Norway is the main body responsible for implementing the Government's industry policy. As a state-owned organisation, its main objective is to promote nationwide industry development under the slogan "giving local ideas global opportunites". Employing more than 800 people, Innovation Norway operates offices in all Norwegian counties and in more than 30 countries worldwide. Innovation Norway focus its activies and support on three target areas:
- Stimulate growth and international market opportunies for Norwegian small and medium sized businesses through grants/loans, advisory services and local presence in major markets.
- Promote translation of research, particularly through the creation of industry clusters and grants supporting cooperation between reseach institutions and companies.
- Foster a culture of entreprenurship and actively assist enterpreneurs and young companies with advisory servies and international network.
